The Cottage Garden

The Cottage Garden was replanted in 2007 and remains a tribute to the late Hannah Hutchinson of 'Owl Cottage', Mottistone who was known nationally for her quintessential Isle of Wight Cottage Garden.

Visitors sit amongst this planting to enjoy their refreshments surrounded by the scents of roses, herbs, sweetpeas and a myriad of old and new cottage garden plants. It is very densely planted to ensure a long season of interest and the plants jostle for space with clematis going up into the two old apple trees.
