Apple Day Festival

The 2009 Apple Day Festival is on Saturday and Sunday 19th & 20th September.

The Apple Day Festival is a way of celebrating the English apple and apple traditions.

There will be a wide range of stalls, craft stands, demonstrations and food on the menu - many of which have an apple theme. At the core of the event (!) are the ever-popular apple-pressing, apple identification and help with cultural problems. Last year 99 different varieties of dessert and cooking apples were on display with experts helping people identify fruit from their own trees.

Apple gamesFamilies can taste freshly pressed apple juice and dine on apple & parsnip soup or freshly baked apple cake from our on site Apple Tree Café.

The Apple Days event seems to have captured people's imagination, with young & old, locals & visitors attracted to the age-old traditions of harvesting and celebrating Orchards as very special places.

Tip: If you want to identify an apple tree in your garden bring the fruit and some leaves/twigs and this will help our apple experts.
